Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September 21 1983) is an American actress best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. After the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington Ohio in order to settle with her family in Los Angeles. Although she was struggling financially in 2001, her debut came in the role of Rachel's Room's principal character. After earning a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her portrayal in Murder In Greenwich of a 15-year young Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace went on to win. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) along with her. The show ended in 2005 and Grace would like to be as a film actress, and had been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She has appeared on Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 as well as in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost and the final episode. The actress was featured in 2013's seventh season Californication. She portrays Faith an actress in a group and as a muse to the stars that catches the attention of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She is part of the Gyllenhaal clan as well as the sister to Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career in the teen years with minor appearances in his films. She also appeared alongside her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for an Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the love story Secretary (2002). The two movies were critically acclaimed. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006 including World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). In recognition of her role as the single mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Following that she was a part of comedies as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Her other characters include as a secret agent of the Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a vocalist in Frank 2014, and the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the main role. Gyllenhaal's debut as a filmmaker and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological thriller that won her an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
