Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She's now an actress from Germany and Romania. Her most famous films are Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born as the only child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the world of show business early, and ended up playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she was sixteen. Following her critically-acclaimed character in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge on Downfall. Downfall was nominated for an Oscar and received critical and commercial great success. The other Oscar nominated film starring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra has been involved in numerous important international and national projects through the years. Some of these comprise British biographical films, the British Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. Additionally, she was a member of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
